Field recording of a spontaneous summer thunderstorm on a creek. I just happened to get lucky and was recording when it started, as well as no real rain until well into the storm.
Recorded in Southwestern Michigan, USA, on 08 June 2015.
The album cover photo shows the precise setting of this recording.
Bird species identified in this recording:
Northern Cardinal (Cardinalis cardinalis)
Hairy Woodpecker (Dryobates villosus)
Yellow-throated Vireo (Vireo flavifrons)
Red-eyed Vireo (Vireo olivaceus)
Great Crested Flycatcher (Myiarchus crinitus)
Red-bellied Woodpecker (Melanerpes carolinus)
Wood Duck (Aix sponsa)
American Crow (Corvus brachyrhynchos)
Baltimore Oriole (Icterus galbula)
Please note I mastered this to retain as much of the dynamic range of thunder as I could. This means it gets very loud very quickly at times, so please adjust your listening volume accordingly.
24-bit recording (when you download in a format that supports such a bit depth).
No loops. No tricks. No bullshit.
